The ratchet mechanism on the black belt is so smooth I keep adjusting it just for fun, and the 1 3/8" width holds its shape nicely through a full workday. Swapped it over to the espresso one for dinner and it looked just as sharp with dark denim.
Roughly a week in and the ratchet buckle still feels as tight as day one, no slipping at all. The 1 3/8" width works perfectly with my work trousers and jeans both.
